Policies, Terms and Conditions

Definitions

  • The ‘customer’ refers to any individual, group, company, organisation or other legal entity which buys products and services from Little Big First Aid. The ‘customer’ also refers to any employee, individual or representative of a group, company, organisation or other legal entity which buys products and services from Little Big First Aid.

  • ‘Service’ means any class or course offered by Little Big First Aid.

  • ‘Booking’ refers to the advance booking of any service offered by Little Big First Aid.

  • ‘Individual booking’ or refers to any customer who books to attend an advertised open public class at a specified venue.

  • ‘Private group booking’ refers to any customer who books a class for a group of people which is held at private venue supplied and funded by the customer.

Booking Conditions

Individual Bookings

  1. Provisional bookings may be accepted by telephone or email and held for seven days. Full payment is required to secure a booking.

  2. Little Big First Aid agrees to provide the service to the customer at the venue sourced by the Little Big First Aid in accordance with these terms and conditions.

  3. The customer agrees to provide Little Big First Aid with any information, documentation or materials as required and to enable Little Big First Aid to provide the service. The customer accepts responsibility for accuracy of all information, documentation and materials supplied.

  4. Services shall be provided in accordance with current published literature and these terms and conditions.

  5. Little Big First Aid may correct any typographical or other errors or omissions in any brochure, promotional literature, quotation or other document relating to the provision of the service without any liability to the customer.

  6. Little Big First Aid may at any time without notifying the customer make any changes to the service which are necessary to comply with any applicable safety or other statutory requirements, or which do not materially affect the nature or quality of the service.

 

Private Group Bookings

  1. Provisional bookings may be accepted by telephone or email and held for seven days. 50% of the full payment is required to secure a booking.

  2. Full payment must be made 6 weeks prior to the start of the class.

  3. Should payment of the balance not be received 6 weeks prior to the start of the class, the booking shall be considered cancelled.

  4. Bookings made within 6 weeks of the start of the class require full payment to secure the booking.

  5. Little Big First Aid agrees to provide the service to the customer at the venue provided by the customer in accordance with these terms and conditions.

  6. The customer agrees to provide Little Big First Aid with any information, documentation or materials as required and to enable Little Big First Aid to provide the service. The customer accepts responsibility for accuracy of all information, documentation and materials supplied.

  7. Services shall be provided in accordance with current published literature and these terms and conditions.

  8. Little Big First Aid may correct any typographical or other errors or omissions in any brochure, promotional literature, quotation or other document relating to the provision of the service without any liability to the customer.

Gift Vouchers

  1. Full payment must be made at the time of purchase.

  2. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

  3. Gift vouchers are issued to an individual and are not transferrable.

  4. Should unforeseen circumstances dictate the inability to utilise the gift voucher within the dates of validity, Little Big First Aid may consider the transfer or refund of gift vouchers following application in writing.

  5. Little Big First Aid may correct any typographical or other errors or omissions in any brochure, promotional literature, quotation or other document relating to the provision of the service without any liability to the customer.

  6. Little Big First Aid may at any time without notifying the customer make any changes to the service which are necessary to comply with any applicable safety or other statutory requirements, or which do not materially affect the nature or quality of the service.

 

Cancellation by Customer

General Awareness Public Classes

  1. Little Big First Aid requires cancellations to be submitted in writing. If customers cancel, the following applies:

    1. Notice outside of 28 days - full refund of class cost

    2. Notice within 21 - 28 days - 75% refund of class cost

    3. Notice within 14 - 20 days - 50% refund of class cost

    4. Notice within 7 - 13 days - 25% refund of class cost

    5. Notice within 0 - 6 days - 0% refund of class cost

  3. Substitution of the original booked person may be made in writing up to the time of class commencement. This will incur no charges.

  4. Customers may apply in writing to amend class dates giving at least 7 full days of notice. Requests within this timescale will be considered a cancellation.

 

General Awareness Private Classes

  1. Little Big First Aid requires cancellations to be submitted in writing. If customers cancel, the following applies:

    1. Notice outside of 42 days - full refund of class cost

    2. Notice within 28 - 41 days - 50% refund of class cost

    3. Notice within 14 - 27 days - 25% refund of class cost

    4. Notice within 0 - 13 days - 0% refund of class cost

  2. Substitution of the original booked person(s) may be made in writing up to the time of class commencement. This will incur no charges.

  3. Customers may apply in writing to amend class dates giving at least 14 full days of notice. Requests within this timescale will be considered a cancellation.

 

Qualifications

  1. Little Big First Aid requires cancellations to be submitted in writing. If customers cancel, the following applies:

    1. Notice outside of 42 days - full refund of class cost

    2. Notice within 28 - 42 days - 50% refund of class cost

    3. Notice within 14 - 27 days - 50% refund of class cost

    4. Notice within 0 - 13 days - 0% refund of class cost

  2. Substitution of the original booked person may be made in writing up to 14 days prior to class commencement as long as the substitute satisfies the requirement of the class. This will incur no charges.

  3. Customers may apply in writing to amend class dates giving at least 28 full days of notice. Requests within this timescale will be considered a cancellation with charges applied.

 

Cancellation by Little Big First Aid

  1. Whilst every effort is made to ensure advertised classes go ahead, there may be circumstances where Little Big First Aid is forced to cancel classes. Such circumstances may arise from customer cancellation which takes the class delegates under minimum operating numbers.

  2. If cancellation is necessary, as much notice as possible will be given to customers.

  3. If classes are cancelled prior to commencement, a full refund will be given. If cancellations occur part way through a class, a pro rata refund or an alternative completion date will be offered.

  4. Little Big First Aid cannot be held liable for any customer transport, travel, accommodation or childcare costs incurred due to circumstances beyond our control.

  5. Little Big First Aid cannot be held liable for any delay to classes or cancellation of classes and subsequent customer costs incurred as a result of severe weather or unsuitable weather conditions.

 

Customer Conduct

  1. Customers are expected to display polite, courteous and participative behaviour at all times during the classes.

  2. If Little Big First Aid judges any behaviour displayed to be disruptive to other customers, the person(s) will be asked curtail their conduct. If such behaviour continues, the person(s) will be asked to leave and no refund will be provided.

  3. Abusive, offensive, threatening and/or discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated at any time. Persons displaying such behaviour will be asked to leave and no refund provided.

  3. Little Big First Aid warrants to the customer that the service will be provided using reasonable care and skill. Where Little Big First Aid supplies in connection with the provision of the service any goods supplied by a third party, Little Big First Aid does not give any warranty, guarantee or other term as to their quality, fitness for purpose or otherwise.

  4. It should be noted by the customer that clinical and industry advice and developments occur regularly. Customers should ensure that they keep informed of any and all developments and apply these to skills learned accordingly. It is recommended that refresher first aid courses are undertaken annually as a minimum. Little Big First Aid shall accept no liability to the customer for any loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims for compensation arising from the customer’s failure to remain informed of clinical and industry developments, or failure to undertake annual training.

  5. Little Big First Aid shall have no liability to the customer for any loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims for compensation arising from instructions supplied by the customer which are incomplete, incorrect, inaccurate, illegible, out of sequence or in the wrong form, or arising from their late arrival or non-arrival, or any other fault of the client.

  6. Little Big First Aid shall not be liable for any loss, damage, expense, injury or delay of any kind to the customer, employee of the customer or any third party, by any act, default or omission howsoever caused, except in insofar as such liability cannot be excluded by law.

  7. Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by Little Big First Aid’s negligence, Little Big First Aid shall not be liable to the client by reason of any representation (unless fraudulent), or any implied warranty, condition or other term, or any duty at common law, or under the express terms of the booking form, for any loss of profit or any indirect, special or consequential loss, damage, costs, expenses or other claims (whether caused by the negligence of Little Big First Aid, its servants or agents or otherwise) which arise out of or in connection with the provision of the Service or its use by the customer, and the entire liability of the supplier under or in connection with the provision of the service shall not exceed the amount of Little Big First Aid’s charges for the provision of the service, except as expressly provided in these conditions.

 

Equality and Diversity Policy

  1. Under no circumstances will Little Big First Aid discriminate on the grounds of any protected characteristic under the Equality Act (2010).

  2. Discriminatory behaviour displayed by customers during Little Big First Aid classes will not be tolerated. Customers displaying such behaviour towards other customers, members of the public or Little Big First Aid will be asked to leave the class and no refund will be given.

  3. Customers should notify Little Big First Aid of any disabilities which may require reasonable adjustments to be made. Where adjustments cannot reasonably be made, Little Big First Aid will discuss the content of classes and requirements to pass any qualifications allowing the customer to decide whether attendance is appropriate.

 

Failure to Attend

  1. Refunds will not be provided for anyone failing to attend a booked class or part of a class.

  2. In exceptional circumstances and with notification prior to commencement of the class, Little Big First Aid may agree to offer an alternative class to the customer. Exceptional circumstances might include illness, emergency care for dependents, vehicle breakdown (this list is not exhaustive).

  3. The Failure to Attend policy does not apply to privately booked classes or to classes where formal qualifications are gained.

 

Health and Safety Policy

  1. Little Big First Aid takes health and safety of customers and members of the public seriously. Customers will be advised of any potential hazards which may arise during the classes.

  2. It is expected that customers will follow any written or verbal instructions regarding health and safety.

  3. Little Big First Aid will ensure venues selected meet the required standards within the venues policy. The venues will be risk assessed accordingly.

  4. Where customers select and provide a public or private venue, customers will be expected to conduct a risk assessment and notify Little Big First Aid of any potential hazards.

  5. Customers with infectious respiratory infections will be asked to postpone their attendance until the infection has cleared. Customers will be offered an alternative date to attend a class.

 

Insurance

  1. Little Big First Aid will ensure adequate Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance is in place to a limit of £4,000,000.

 

Trainer Qualifications and Continual Professional Development

  1. Little Big First Aid will ensure any employed or freelance trainers hold the minimum required qualifications and can demonstrate continual professional development in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

  2. Where possible, Little Big First Aid will only use trainers who hold qualifications at a higher level than the minimum industry requirements.

  3. In addition to teaching and first aid qualifications, all employed or freelance Little Big First Aid trainers will be required to hold adequate Safeguarding qualifications and DBS checks.

 

Venues Policy

  1. Little Big First Aid will ensure venues selected for the classes have adequate space for the number of customers to undertake practical activities as required.

  2. Little Big First Aid will assess venues for adequate lighting, heating, cleanliness and ventilation.

  3. Little Big First Aid will ensure that male and female toilet facilities are provided.

  4. Where possible, carpeted venues will be provided for practical work, where this is not possible, Little Big First Aid will provide kneeling mats.

  5. Customers providing their own public or private venues are expected ensure the above conditions are in place. Should an unsuitable venue be provided, Little Big First Aid may deem it necessary to terminate the class with no refund provided
